About Me

Hi! I'm Howard from 6 Obedience and I'm currently in the race for the 2023 Eagle Award. I am very honored and humbled to be nominated for the most prestigious award in SLI that values both academic and character excellence.

In this portfolio I wish to highlight my journey in the past 6 years in and outside of this beloved school. After reading this portfolio, I hope you can understand not only why I really want this award but also why I deserve this award :) .

My two favourite subjects in school are Science and Social Studies as they satisfy my curiosity about real world issues. I think it’s important to understand the past, the current changes taking place, and of course how these things are shaping the future! Having said that, I still give my best and effort for all other subjects as seen from my past projects - you can browse my academic portfolio to see the interesting projects and assignments given by the teachers in the past years.

I was also the Junior Student Council President from 2021-2022 and now helping out as a Mentor for the new JSC President. During my period, I was very blessed to have a strong team that worked well together. We managed to conduct various exciting activities, notably the first online game night that strengthened the school community and also provided the JSC team with valuable skills, such as planning an event, working under pressure, and dealing with negative feedbacks.

In my spare time, I love coding, building Lego, playing video games, and swimming! I have actively participated in various coding competitions internationally and most recently represented my coding school (Kodecoon Academy Singapore) in the MIT App Inventor Summer Appathon - a global coding mobile app competition for young adults under 18. Proud to say that my team managed to clinch 2nd place in People's Choice award for our app: RiotDetector. Another notable achievement related to technology was my involvement with Google Education team where I was given the opportunity to present and even be one of the panelist in Edutech- one of the largest education technology conference in Indonesia.

I am cheerful by nature and I always try to help others. I strive to always put my best effort in all my tasks and I try to be more easy going and more introspective when things don't go according to plan. I also realize there are still so much room for me to grow and most notably I wish to be active again in sports now that the pandemic is over.

I am very thankful that I always have great support. My friends, my teammates, my teachers, and my parents are always ready to lend their strength and wisdom when I needed help. I wouldn't be here today without their support.

Last but not least, I would like to quote my favourite verse from the bible, Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.."
